Mealime alternatives: where to take your recipes before 21 October
Save the recipes your household actually cooks first, then choose an app by the job Mealime did for you.

Mealime closes on 21 October 2026. Its recipes are moving to Meals Hub, inside US grocery apps such as Safeway and Albertsons, and Mealime says all personal data will be deleted at shutdown. Before you pick what comes next, save the recipes your household actually cooks.
What changes on 21 October
Mealime's notice, checked on 24 September 2026, says:
- Mealime is discontinued on 21 October 2026.
- Mealime recipes stay available on Meals Hub, in Albertsons Companies grocery apps and store websites. The chains it names are all in the US, including Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco and ACME.
- Pro recipes and features are free for everyone until then, and Pro subscribers won't be charged again.
- All personal data will be deleted when the app shuts down. The notice doesn't mention an export, so treat anything saved to your account as temporary.
If you shop at one of those chains and mainly want Mealime's recipes, Meals Hub is the official route. Everyone else needs a new home for the recipes and the weekly routine.
Save the recipes you cook, before the 21st
You probably don't need every recipe you ever saved. Go through your favourites and recent plans and note the ones your household would happily cook again. A dozen reliable dinners is a good start.
Every Mealime recipe has its own page on mealime.com, and many recipe apps can read a recipe from that link. In the Mealime app, open the recipe, tap the three dots and choose Share. On a computer, open the recipe in Mealime's web app and copy the address. Recipes you added to Mealime yourself may not have a public page, so screenshot or copy those too.
In Scullery, choose Add recipe, then tap Paste or paste the link into Recipe website link. On Android, once Scullery is on your home screen, you can share a Mealime recipe straight to it. When we tested three Mealime links on 24 September 2026, each came across with its title, servings, ingredients, method, photo and a link back to Mealime. Mealime's recipe data leaves out the amounts for pantry items such as salt, oil and spices, so Scullery works them out from the recipe's steps and tells you if it couldn't find one. Plan to Eat is offering new customers who are leaving Mealime 30% off, through its 14 September post. The post doesn't say how long the offer runs.
What Scullery does, and what it doesn't
Scullery is a free recipe organiser and meal planner for households. Save recipes from websites, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, screenshots and cookbook pages into one shared cookbook. Shortlist what you fancy, let everyone add a yes, put meals on the plan with or without a day, and build one shopping list from the recipes you chose. Scale a recipe to half, double or four times and the list follows.
It won't hand you a ready-made weekly menu the way Mealime did, it doesn't count calories, and there's no App Store app: it runs in your phone or desktop browser, and you can add it to your home screen. Imports from social posts, screenshots and photos use AI and have usage limits.

No. Scullery runs in your phone or desktop browser. You can add it to your home screen, and on Android it then appears in the share menu.
